It was a relaxing pottery experience for us. Sony met us at the shop and we walked around 5 mins to the workshop.
Sony gave us a brief background on the clay and the craft then Du/ Tu stayed with us for the remainder of the sessions. Less English conversations but he was friendly, patient and very helpful when we were messing up our work.
We were able to make a few pieces. You can keep one of your work for free. The rest is US$5 each. There’s 10% discount on their shop goods if you take the class. Since it was two of us students in the class, we were given lots of time and used up only about 2 hours.
Some white clay may get in your clothes but it can be washed off with water.

OVED it!! When I visited Bat Trang pottery shop for the pottery class, I happened to be the only one signed up. They didn’t mind and ran the class as a personal one on one session. You get 3 hours to throw clay on the wheel and the teacher is very patient to let you try on your own but also willing to fix your mistakes. I loved that he was a local teacher form the village because it was more authentic. This meant he didn’t speak much English but his care for the art and teaching shoes through without language. Don’t be alarmed when they lead you down a dark alley to the pottery studio; it is nussled into the back of a few buildings. Please go and just have fun with it! Try many different things! You’ll get one glazed for free and can buy more for just $5 each!
